BLUE AMBER FENCING

Blue Amber are an experimental indie band who have just dropped their fantastic new album, Rockland’s Workshop. One of the most impressive of the ten new tracks is ‘Fencing’. There’s an overarching sense of melancholy found throughout the acoustic, folky tune as guitar chords and subtle strings provide the only accompaniment to harmonised lead vocals. At the same time, a sense of hope finds its way in. On placing the track last on their album, the band explains that it “incorporates an element of hope to the final track on the album, but also a sense of foreboding; that mistakes from the past are bound to repeat themselves.” Be sure to give Rockland’s Workshop a listen in full. -Dan Peeke.
